    How Memory Works

    1. What was the overall purpose of the speech. Try to restate or summarize the main point. How well was it addressed?
    To tell the audience how memory works.She talked about the different types of memory.
    2. Was there a hook? Was it effective? How could it have been improved?
    The hook was about her not doing well in midterms because she couldnt remember the answers which is a good hook because it is relatible.
    3. Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas?
    The structure was logical. she had an introduction, body and conclusion. she had good transitions between her points and there was evidence.
    4. Was the conclusion concise? Were main points restated or summarized? Was the closing memorable?
    The conclusion was good. She summarised her points and it was memorable.
    5. Did the speaker use enthusiasm, pauses, humor, visual aids,

    6. What did you notice about the speaker’s body language? Posture, eye contact, gestures.
    Good posture, good eye contact and natural gestures.
    7. Was the volume good? Did the speaker enunciate and pronounce clearly? Could everything be understood?
    The volume was good and her voice was clear and audible. I understood all of her speech.

    1. What was the overall purpose of the speech. Try to restate or summarize the main point. How well was it addressed?
    The main purpose of the speech was to show why she admires Erin Gruwell. Her point was well addressed.
    2. Was there a hook? Was it effective? How could it have been improved?
    She stated the topic as her hook. It could be improved but as it was her first speech we had not talked about hooks yet.
    3. Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas?
    Yes the structure is logical and she supports her points with examples.
    4. Was the conclusion concise? Were main points restated or summarized? Was the closing memorable?
    The conclusion was cut off by the video so I’m not quite sure.

    She was passionate about the person she talked about so that was really nice. She did not use any visual aids.
    6. What did you notice about the speaker’s body language? Posture, eye contact, gestures.
    She keeps good eye contact and her hand gestures are not too much either.
    Was the volume good? Did the speaker enunciate and pronounce clearly? Could everything be understood?
    Yes, the volume was clear and understandable.
