Evaluation for '6. Second major assignment'

1.What was the overall purpose of the speech. Try to restate or summarize the main point. How well was it addressed?
    - To encourage university students whether to live off campus or not. It was addressed along the whole presentation as presenter's personal stories.

2.Was there a hook? Was it effective? How could it have been improved?
    - Question about where university students live during the semester. This is a good way but he could have added more confidence into it.

3.Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas?
-It is good that the speaker listed his own experience in time order which makes it powerful and specific enough as examples. There were some transitions heard such as 'first' and 'next' etc.

4.Was the conclusion concise? Were main points restated or summarized? Was the closing memorable?
-He states as follows, 'the message that I want to send you is...' and this is a signal transition that shows he is making conclusion. It was quite memorable.

5.Did the speaker use enthusiasm, pauses, humor, visual aids,
-He did not show any enthusiasm, humor and visual aids and that is what makes the presentation quite boring. He could at least have used visual aids since there were computers in classroom.

6.What did you notice about the speaker’s body language? Posture, eye contact, gestures.
    - He is swaying his body time to time and in many times lean toward the podium which is an action needs to be improved.

7.Was the volume good? Did the speaker enunciate and pronounce clearly? Could everything be understood?
    - There is no problem with the volume but something has to be done to his pronunciation. I could not understand some of his words. But overall, the presentation was understandable.

-I think it would be better to mention about some cases about people who had euthanasia to grab people’s attention at the beginning.
    3. Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas?
-Yes, he did well organized his structure in logical order, supported his three main reasons by giving examples and I did not see any problem him using transitions, but I was quite confused when he talked about the monetary problem.
