He introduced the people who he admires. He admires his parents because his parents sacrifice themselves for the family and motivate the speaker

  2. Generic Presentation Evaluation
    (Unit 5 In my opinion)
1.What was the overall purpose of the speech. Try to restate or summarize the main point. How well was it addressed?
To explain why sports players deserve a huge income. There are three reasons for such a high wage. Firstly, the abilities of professional players are way better than those of amateur players, influence of the sports is very powerful, and finally many industries are related to sports. The purpose of the speech and main points were clearly addressed as the speaker had a clear organization of his speech.

2.Was there a hook? Was it effective? How could it have been improved?
The speaker began his presentation with a question that was relevant to the topic, “Do you like sports like soccer, basketball, etc.?” I think it was effective because the presenter asked a question that most male students would be interested. I think it would have been better if he had some audience to actually respond to his question to make the presentation seem more lively and interactive.

3.Was the structure logical? Point supported by evidence or examples? Good transitions between ideas?
The structure was logical. The presenter suggested specific examples which were all relevant to the points that he was making. Also, clear use of transitions such as “first”, “second”, and “third” helped the audience to follow the structure of his presentation.

4.Was the conclusion concise? Were main points restated or summarized? Was the closing memorable?
The conclusion was concise. The speaker restated his thesis once more in the end to make his points clearer. I believe the closing could be improved by summarizing his main points and making a more memorable closing such as introducing a quote or using a bit of humor.

5.Did the speaker use enthusiasm, pauses, humor, visual aids,
The speaker did not have visual aids, but the organization of the presentation was clear enough to understand. Because he had lots of specific examples which involved famous sports stars during the explanation, it appealed to the general interest of the audience. I think the speaker prepared well in choosing his topic and coming up with the main points.

6.What did you notice about the speaker’s body language? Posture, eye contact, gestures.
The speaker kept on looking at the camera which made me feel like he was telling his story in front of me. His posture was good, but he rarely made gestures throughout his speech. I think he can work on making a few gestures next time.

7.Was the volume good? Did the speaker enunciate and pronounce clearly? Could everything be understood?
I think the volume, speech rate, and tone of his voice were good. I was able to understand his words clearly. Because the camera was close to him in his small confined space, his voice was clearly recorded in the video. However, I felt that some of his intonation could be improved. I sometimes felt awkward when he abruptly finished his sentence without a falling intonation.
