    Speaker: Jin kyu Choi
    Assignment/Title : Mandatory military service

    1. What was the speaker’s strongest main point?
The speaker chose topic that is very much relevant to himself and male audience in Korea.

    2. What did you like about the presentation?
The presentation was easy to understand, the speaker spoke clearly.

    3. How well did the audience get to know the speech subject?
Because the speech subject was one of the most controversial issues in Korea, it was a familiar topic and the contents were easy to understand.

    4. Did the speech reflect adequate preparation?
Yes, the speaker had notes in his phone, using an empty classroom with a cameraman. Contents were organized into few main points.

    5. Did the speaker talk clearly and audibly?
The speaker had appropriate volume and tone which made his presentation clear and audible.

    6. Was there a definite opening, body, and conclusion?
He started the topic with an interesting opener and he related the topic to himself. In the body, he made his points that the soldiers are not paid enough. He concluded that it would be better for the country and the soldiers if the wages are increased.

    7. Please comment on the speaker’s use of notes/eye contact.
The speaker made several eye contacts. I think it would be better to make more eye contacts rather than keeping his eyes on the phone to read the notes.

    8. What could the speaker have done differently that would have improved the speech?
If the speaker had used some pauses and conveyed his emotions by varying intonation, the speech would have been much more effective.

    9. What was your overall (positive) evaluation of the speech as a whole?
His choice of topic was good and made good points about the issue. He didn’t seem to feel nervous at all. Good luck on your military service!
