  1. Date :5.22.2017
    Evaluator: Minhee Woo (Tuesday 11-13)
    Speaker: Seong in Cho
    Assignment/Title : Opinion Speech

    1. What was the speaker’s strongest main point?
His main point was that governments should allow death penalty.

    2. What did you like about the presentation?
I really liked the organization which is divided into three main reasons and this made the whole speech very clear. Also, the conclusion was very effectively summarizing the contents and he emphasized his points again which strengthened his opinion.

    3. How well did the audience get to know the speech subject?
Well enough, as the topic is well known and also the speaker introduced the subject briefly in the beginning, I did not have any difficulty in understanding it.

    4. Did the speech reflect adequate preparation?
Yes, he memorized the whole presentation very well, not needing the notecards at all.

    5. Did the speaker talk clearly and audibly?
Yes, specifically his speed was adequate and maintained it without rushing or pausing. But there was some noise around the place where he was shooting which got a little too loud for few seconds.

    6. Was there a definite opening, body, and conclusion?
    Yes, it was very clear.

    7. Please comment on the speaker’s use of notes/eye contact.
There was no use of notes and the eye contact was nicely focused on the camera.

    8. What could the speaker have done differently that would have improved the speech?
In my very personal opinion, he could have chosen softer words instead of ‘just hang them and it could be cheaper and quicker’. I personally thought those words were too strong and maybe offensive for some people to hear.

    9. What was your overall (positive) evaluation of the speech as a whole?
I really liked the well organized and clear ideas that appeared in the speech. Also, the overall posture, gestures and eye contact seemed very natural and confident, which made the presentation very comfortable to watch.
